The Competitional genre is the main genre composing the Object Show Community's purpose of production when it comes to object shows in general. It began with Battle for Dream Island and has remained as the most popular and largest genre in the community, for fourteen years straight.

Subgenres

  • Joke genre: Simply put, a parody of what the competitional genre works. They mostly are made as a joke with memes and other stuff such as poorly cropped images. Some object shows do have low-quality images, a style of the joke genre, but they are not officially a joke show.
  • Plot genre: Between the Competitional and non-competitional genre, it contains a story waiting to be either clear or needed to be theorized, often being creepy or shocking with plot twists.
