Objectshowpedia
Objectshowpedia is a wiki and online encyclopedia built on the MediaWiki software, dedicated to cover pretty much all of the Object Show Community, maintained by its fans. It was originally founded by MateyOSC on September 1 and 2, 2024.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The Objectshowpedia is a pun for the name Wikipedia just with "Objectshow" instead of "Wiki".
History[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
Most previous object show wikis were all covered on the wiki farm Fandom, a company originally founded in-part by Jimbo Wales (a co-founder of Wikipedia), though recently it has become controversial due to its aggressive ads, unwanted features and the infamous Grimace incident where McDonald's paid Fandom to alter the article of the character in the McDonald's wiki, distorting it into one big advertisement.[1]
Launch[edit | edit source]
The domain for "objectshowpedia.com" was registered on September 1, 2024 and it began functioning on the next day. This was all orchestrated by a Brazilian OSC YouTuber MateyOSC who has become a voice actor in the same year.
Early history[edit | edit source]
Though the website remained stable for its first month, the website was randomly suspended by Bluehost systems on October 21 before being restored on October 22.
Description[edit | edit source]
Like said before, the Objectshowpedia is run on the MediaWiki software, launched in 2002. The open-source and free software existed for Wikipedia to use it, which the website was created in 2001. Like any other large wiki, it is maintained by a community of volunteers of the certain subject. For the Objectshowpedia, it is literally about the Object Show Community.
