The Mouth asset originated from the Battle for Dream Island Adobe Animate assets created back in 2010 before evolving to what it is now, a meme in the Object Show Community. It has become a trend and a staple of comedy due to its usage
Name
The mouth asset is mostly called "Mouth". Search engine results claim that the Mouth, without knowing the origin, calls it either Cartoon Mouth or Clipart mouth. The file for the mouth was called Open Mouth 4 (A) as according to the Battle for Dream Island Fandom wiki.
Appearance
Origin
Prototypes of the Mouth asset originated between 2007 and 2008 with the production of I Can Make a Difference! school project, by Michael Huang. The Mouth's earliest version, being the Open Mouth 4 (A), first appeared in "Take the Plunge".
Use
The original usage of the Mouth was to represent happiness or screaming of object show characters, mainly BFDI ones.
Most likely, when the show became open-source in 2012, people flocked and published it through free PNG image websites to be used. This is possibly why there are so many places like Roblox games and real life locations or random YouTube videos such as Danno Cal Drawings' short on breathing wrong.[1]
