When it comes to the internet, a camp is a subcategory of object shows where real-life people compete in challenges given by the host, as pre-established characters from shows such as Battle for Dream Island or their own characters. Camps are often hosted at DeviantArt or Discord, as well as YouTube or even Scratch and Fandom.

Usual formula[edit | edit source]

  • Hosting a signup
  • Posting a challenge for contestants to send their entries based on
  • Judging the entries, and putting contestants up for elimination
  • Repeating the last two points multiple times until there is only one contestant left, considered the winner.

History[edit | edit source]

Arguably the first well-known camp in the Object Show Community is Battle for Space Palace, which was originally uploaded to YouTube on August 5, 2011 with the sign-ups video.[1] The challenges officially began on August 28. An official camp by Cary Huang was made under the name ABCDEF with Ruby's sisters that were seen in the BFDI season Battle for Dream Island Again. After the cancellation of B.A.G.U.E.T.T.E., Cary made Ten Words of Wisdom which would become one of the most popular camps.
