Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life and career[edit | edit source]

Cary (right) with Michael and their parents

Cary Kaiming Huang was born on 18 March 1997, two minutes before Michael Yiming.[2]

Both of the Huang twins made films as young as 8 years old with the channel Zack Bone Productions having VHS tape recordings of their Jenga stop-motion shorts, attempted show projects and stop-motion skits.[3] Cary also made very old creations on Stagecast Creator, a programming language developed for children. These were produced between 2005 to 2009.

Meanwhile in 2006, Water-Sponge-Fire was conceived as a variation of Rock-Paper-Scissors.[4] This ultimately resulted in the creation of Teardrop, Spongy and Firey.

Battle for Dream Island[edit | edit source]

Although the Huang twins made their Internet debut in 2007 through FreeSound, the jacknjellify channel was first created on February 2, 2008.[5] Later in the year, Cary created as a school project the first pre-BFDI comic, "FIREY to keep our customers happy", for a fake catalog, though when creating Firey, his teacher suggested the character's name to be "Fires".[6]
