Battle for Dream Island, commonly shortened as BFDI, is an American fantasy-comedy reality-competition viewer voting web series created by the Huang twins, Michael and Cary, and released in 2010. It is the first object show to be created and released on YouTube and even after 11 years in the air (being disputed as either the longest or the second-longest running show), it is still ongoing with five seasons and 84 episodes.

The plotline trope of competitional object shows began with BFDI, where contestants battle for a prize given by the host to the winner of the competition. The titular and common prize was Dream Island (later prizes include A BFDI, A BFB and limitless power).[1][2] The seasons were hosted by several ones, including the Announcer, Four with X and Two.[3]

Animated in Adobe Animate, the series was heavily inspired by the Canadian Total Drama cartoon and the American Survivor show, as well as web-series Homestar Runner for character appearances. The contestants were created as far back as 2008 through a series of comic strips.

It marked the official start of the Object Show Community, from the inspired creation of Inanimate Insanity and then it gave the opportunity of fans making their own. Initially, the series only had video games (like BFDIA 5b and the earlier Firey's Candy Bar Adventure) and now it has merchandise (like the plushies, cups and more).

Development and production[edit | edit source]

Battle for Dream Island characters were first conceived as a series of hand-drawn comic strips starting from May 2, 2008, originally created by Michael and Cary Huang as a school project with "FIREY to keep our customers happy". Then, the first character created Firey would go on to be the titular character of the Firey comic series.

The series would be first concieved on August 18, 2009 after Michael and Cary's family went into a one-week vacation trip to Hawaii and got inspired by Total Drama Island and Survivor so they had the idea to create a Flash-animated web series to YouTube. Although two Flash projects were made before the conception, production began on September 2009 and "Take the Plunge" would be uploaded on January 1, 2010.[4][5][6]

The series original schedule was month by month starting on the first date, of each month. It was produced between their freetime from home work from middle school.[7] The first season was made for 25 months straight, always releasing on the first day of it. After the short period of voting, writing took one week. Voice acting took only a day, and has been estimated that it they took 3 days for sound designing.[8] For the remainder of production, it took 2 weeks to finish it. At some point in April 2011, the series could have been canceled until one of Cary's friends advised them to not to do it with their recent subscriber growth.[9]

After the release and the end of the first season, Battle for Dream Island Again began on June 29, 2012 and was only put in hiatus due to the Huang twins junior year high school getting more busier which made more difficult to produce more episodes until "Well Rested" or BFDIA 6.[10] On March 10, 2014, their AdSense account (their form of monetization) was suspended, ending their profit income revenue, and spawned a three-year hiatus in BFDI-related content, resulting in the initial cancelation.[11] The season would be revived 10 years after the proposed release date of the sixth episode which was finally released and revived the season.[12]

Initially, the second season wouldn't be revived but was initially replaced with IDFB, on September 1, 2016 after the jacknjellify's AdSense account being reinstated in June 2016.[13] The season ended up in hiatus again, and it still is to this day.

Battle for BFB, formerly titled Battle for BFDI, would be premiered on November 3, 2017 and would continue until the split with the release of "The Escape from Four" on March 16, 2020, where Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two was announced with over 42 contestants, while BFB kept only 14 contestants.

TPOT would only premiere on January 10, 2021 and the series remained popular. Between to today, the series has begun having notable audiences, especially young.

The series is mostly animated on Adobe Animate, previously Macromedia Flash, with a massive number of storyboard artists, voice actors, and animators. The scripts were made using paper drawings through storyboards, on all seasons. More than 40 voice actors worked on the show and over 100 crew members are in the object show. One thing in common of all intros for BFDI (except BFB) is "bass 8ths sample.wav" by beatloaf on Freesound.org, which was first used by the Huang twins as part of the theme of the first season. The series is uploaded through the YouTube channel named "jacknjellify", registered on February 4, 2008.

The music used in the show was originally composed by royalty-free musician Kevin MacLeod for three seasons until Michael Huang, with his music career, composed the songs for the rest of the current seasons. MacLeod's classic and nostalgic Internet music has been rarely used.[14]

Setting and premise[edit | edit source]

BFDI is commonly set in the plain continent and country by the name of Goiky set between the air dates of the show, though sometimes the episodes take places on specific years before, such as the post-BFDIA revival era.

Season two (BFDIA)[edit | edit source]

The second season of BFDI, titled Battle for Dream Island Again and abbreviated as BFDIA, began its run on June 29, 2012 and it features 22 contestants (12 returning ones and 10 newcomers). Unlike last season, where there were only 3 hosts (the Announcer, Firey Speaker Box and Flower Speaker Box), there were 5 hosts (TV, Puffball Speaker Box, Firey Speaker Box, Flower and bugs), though the Announcer has been canonically running the season.[15]

The fifth episode was split into 5 parts, with the second part, BFDIA 5b, been a video game instead of a viewable episode. The entire episode is about the contestants traversing to get to the top of the summit of Yoyle Mountain.

The season would return on September 1, 2023 with the official release of "Well Rested". As of October 4, 2024, it currently has over 15 episodes (19 if counting the parts of BFDIA 5 as episodes).

Season three (IDFB)[edit | edit source]

The third season, titled dnalsI maerD rof elttaB and mostly abbreivated as IDFB, was the first post-cancelation season of BFDI and it took place in the country of Yoyleland.[16] As of September 1, 2016, only one episode was released to the public as the series remained in indefinite hiatus after a dormant time. Either it will return after the end of BFDIA or BFDI:TPOT as it was never announced if it was canceled.

It is still unconfirmed if the series will be having a host. The contestants are the same as the amount after the premiere of the episode "Well Rested".

With over 30 episodes in 4 years, the fourth season of BFDI, titled Battle for BFDI and later Battle for BFB, is the longest airing season of the show. This is also the first season of the series to air with the hand-drawn animation style, simplified and more loosely.

The first half of the season followed 64 contestants (half being newcomers) battling for A BFDI, hosted by Four and X, which later was revealed to be the full archive of the first two seasons of the series. The first half also took place in North Goiky. The elimination style kept the same as object shows before this one.

File:Battle for BFB.png

With the split from the episode "The Escape from Four" (released in 2020), where a fifth season, Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, aired simultaneously, the second half became Battle for BFB, where 14 of the remaining contestants battled for both A BFB and A BFDI. The season took place in the Pillary Ruins and the Desert due to issues with fans. The elimination style kept for the fans to vote for saving the contestants to get away from being eliminated. The overall winner of the season was Flower, who was also the first eliminated character in the series.

Season five (BFDI:TPOT)[edit | edit source]

The fifth season of Battle for Dream Island, titled Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two or abbreviated as TPOT, is the most recent of the five. The season originated from the split in BFB and it currently features over 44 contestants battling for Two's abillities which are limitless. The season currently has over 12 episodes and the elimination style kept the same as the previous season. Airing begun on January 10, 2021.

Release schedule[edit | edit source]

In the early seasons, the series mostly had a schedule of release from every first day of the month. During the time of IDFB, the release schedule had an announced date. The post-revival BFDIA has a schedule of one to two months from the first or second day of the month in some locations.

Since Battle for BFB, the schedule for most of the recent seasons has been unscheduled, mostly revealed through teasers or (formerly) other kinds of videos like shorts or music videos.

International translations[edit | edit source]

The only official international version of BFDI is Jacknjellify en Español, which is a Spanish dub for the series. The international translation however also traslated the names of the characters instead of their official names. It began on November 29, 2022 but wouldn't really start until January 23, 2023.

Foreign (outside from the United States) members of the fanbase have been making "fan-dubbings" including in Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, German, Italian and formerly Spanish.

Typeface[edit | edit source]

The main logo for Battle for Dream Island has the Shag Lounge font used for over three seasons. Albertus has been used for the logo for Battle for BFDI/BFB while Wolpe Fanfare was the font used for the logo of Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.

Spinoffs[edit | edit source]

BFDI Mini[edit | edit source]

File:BFDI Mini.png

As a dedicated TikTok and YouTube Shorts format over less than 1 minute videos, BFDI Mini shows recommended characters battling for a mini version of Dream Island. The season is mostly hosted by Four and Snowball and has over 6 seasons. It was created to increase viewer interaction with social media posts. Most of the challenges were requested by the fans.

In the first season, the prize was a mini version of Dream Island while the winner's full name is jack russell terrier dog riding very fast with speed a skateboard as skater , with sunglasses in summer vacation, taking a selfie with smartphone or cell phone (or Selfie Dog for short).

In the second season, the prize was a mini version of "Dream Island Again" and was rewarded to Rose, a contestant from the previous season. The third season featured the Hand-drawn style and the prize was a mini version of "Dream Island Deluxe", rewarded to USB. The fourth season was dedicated to David and it's variants known as the Davidians to win a mini version of "Davidland". The winner ended up in a Davidian under the name of "Johnson".

The fifth season was a food-dedicated season with the prize being a mini variation of "Dream Island Delicious", rewarded to Cereal Box. The sixth season which is currently on the air is dedicated to impersonation replicas of select original contestants from the first two seasons.

Shorts![edit | edit source]

Sometimes, jacknjellify and it's team would upload non-official episodes, dubbed "shorts" in between actual episodes.

Thanks for 4 years![edit | edit source]

Every four years since 2014 on either January 1 to 2, a short would be uploaded celebrating every four years a special would be uploaded. It began with Pen in 2014, and then Match in 2018 and both in 2022. The last one will probably be in 2026 as the limit for titles on YouTube are 100.

Video games[edit | edit source]

Video games have followed the object show since before it's air. The earliest known video game made by the Huang twins is Firey's Candy Bar Adventure, made sometime around January 2009. It has been unfinished and shows Firey trying to open a candy bar but fails and tries to find other ways to find it. Much of the gameplay is possibly inspired by the Henry Stickmin series of games.

File:WIJTTEFET.png
Screenshot from WIJTTEFET as soon as you boot up the game.

The first video game created during Battle for Dream Island's history is Woody's Incredible Journey to the Escape from Eternal Terror (or WIJTTEFET), created by Andrew Wang as a mod for his game The Land of Stuff. The game was originally given as a birthday gift in July 2010. You control Woody with either the arrow keys to move around normally or using the space to skip two spaces from the direction your facing. Woody must be guided by the Player to go to the Scary Free Zone to win the game in this island of oasis and have to avoid Blocky (targets Woody and is the fastest), Firey (the second fastest one, doesn't target Woody), Bubble (doesn't target Woody but it is the second slowest character) and Pin (slowest character and targets Woody). This game was thought to be lost media until the link was discovered in 2017.

Some games relating to BFDI are Get to the Top Although There Is No Top! (a game by the Huang twins inspired by Icy Tower where you'll have to jump to the highest score to the top through platforms while jumping; there are more than 30 variations of the game, including a dedicated BFDI version) and Tidepool (formerly called The Tidepool, it is a game where you'll have to eat creatures from your size smaller than you and you'll grow bigger to win the game; BFDI characters does appear in game). GTTTATINT appeared as a BFDI DDSS game in the merge of "A Leg Up in the Race".

"BFDIA 5b" was released on February 12, 2013 as an attempt of the Huang twins trying to be creative. It is the gap of BFDIA 5 and it is a platformer game starring the FreeSmart team inside Evil Leafy. There are over three recommended characters in this game, Tune, Waffle and Lego Block. By pressing E, you can hold boxes, Z can switch the character you're playing, and R resets the level. There are 53 (or 54) levels in game. They game stopped development around the episode's release and it's official form became inaccessible on the web due to the shutdown of Adobe Flash Player.

Inspired by Slender: the Eight Pages, The Evil Leafy Maze Game was released on the htwins.net website for Halloween 2013. It was made before iOS could do WebGL implementation so Michael Huang wrote a 2D canvas that makes a list of trapezoids from left to right. The game is to avoid Evil Leafy from catching you . Using the WASD controls to move and the mouse to look around, it contains a lack of sound however. The maze contains no exit and the objective is in actuality to survive as long as possible.

The BFDI fanbase was greatful enough to develop their own fangames. The most infamous example is BFDI: Branches on itch.io. The game features Firey, Leafy, Coiny and Pin as they reassemble the Goiky Cake before the Pentagon Speaker Box does. Each of the 4 main characters have their own pros and cons to their abilities. The demo was first released on June 22, 2024 and the full game might be released in 2025. The team contains mationsBOMB as it's creator, Byrin64 as the fangame's director, Meester Tweester (a finalist from Ten Words of Wisdom) as a developer and programmer, and Michael and Cary Huang as voice actors. The demo currently contains 4 levels and 4 variations of the tutorial.

Merchandise[edit | edit source]

Promotional image for the Firey plush

The first string of merchandise was the Shapeways physical 3D figures that ended up being taken down due to being "expensive and unpractical".[17]

The Spreadshirt shop was announced on August 26, 2013 where a shop was opened there with T-shirts, phone cases, stickers and hat caps.[18] The Spreadshirt domain for the website was moved to Myspreadshop.com.

The Redbubble shop was opened in July 2016 and currently has 41 designs. Most of them comes from the same style as before, and the only new things are books, a pillow and a clock of unique.

The independent shop website for plushies was registered on September 18, 2018 and the first plushie made was based on Firey. Since then, plushies were made from Two, Marker, Bubble, Pin, Leafy, Coiny, Four, X, Rocky, Firey Jr., Loser, Pen and Woody. A Foldy origami papercraft was also sold and there were 12 expressions and they came with the Firey plush. They have since been discontinued. The following is a timeline of plush announcements and releases since the year 2019.

Miscellaneous shop pages include Crowdmade shop (which sell varsity sweaters, hoodies, t-shirts, water bottle, iPhone and Samsung phone cases and mugs) and the Creator Ink shop (selling posters and hoodies and a blanket).[19][20]

Events and conventions[edit | edit source]

Meetups[edit | edit source]

There were 8 overall meetups between the years 2016 to 2019 and again in 2022. The 2020 meetup was canceled because of the infamous COVID-19 pandemic likely being originally planned to be a crossover meetup. A meetup was canceled because Michael Huang missed his flight to go to Denver, Colorado.

For the Battle of the Fantasy Foods 2016 Yoylecake victory, in New York City, New York, the first meetup took place with Michael wearing a shipping shirt of Firey and Coiny at the FANDOM Food Truck, where the Yoylecake was served as a miniature vanilla flavored colored cakes.[21]

At some point beginning in February 24 to June 24, 2017, there were 4 meetups taking place at the same year, taking place in San Francisco, United States, Stockholm, Sweden, London, England and Anaheim, California. The video Ballers was the announcement for the latter.

r/place participation[edit | edit source]

In participation to Reddit's r/place event in 2022, BFDI appeared several times during the period of April 1 to 4. r/place was an experiment on 2017, 2022 and 2024 where the platform put a big white canvas to make their drawings as part of the original media's legacy.

Appearing in the Ukranian flag to suppport Ukraine from the infamous Russian invasion, Firey and Leafy pop up at 9:12 AM at California as drawings in the flag before succumbing on 7:57 AM. A second Firey appeared with the work beginning at 6:35 AM. But this one was breif as it was expunged at 10:20 to the Norway flag. Shortly after, at 10:24 and replacing the Among Us crewmates, a third Firey appeared below the German flag and to secure protection, a square was made in a white background.

On April 2, at 12:39 AM at the Ukranian flag after allowing to add drawings in there and between a rat and a rainbow, Marker appeared as a drawing but was later destroyed in order to clean it up. Not far from where the first Firey was, the Speaker Boxes were drawn and the Announcer was completed in the canvas at 7:39 AM.

At the end of the event, all of the canvas drawings were wiped into white at the end of the event.

2023 event[edit | edit source]

File:2023 BFDI X II Experience.png

The BFDI X Inanimate Insanity Experience 2023 took place between June 25, 2023 and July 8, 2023, taking place at the Saban Media Center, Los Angeles, California and Gerald W. Lynch Theater, New York City, New York respectively. Each had 3 screenings for "The Great Goikian Bake-Off" and "Spring on the Breakfast!" for TPOT and Inanimate Insanity Invitational respectively. The morning and evening screenings contained a Q&A with the creators of each object show. Also contained in each screening had an optional VIP ticket for a meeting, photo, or a signing with the original OSC founding fathers. In these experiences. Sold in the event's exclusive merch contained the Two and Nickel plushies, sister packs, Bot enamel pins, and posters designed by Katherine Sun.

The common announcement, "TWO OF THEM!? - BFDI X Inanimate Insanity 2023 Event", was uploaded on April 15, 2023 and it had different endings for each channel you could follow.

Before their screenings, it was warned to the viewers to not record the episodes, not even photograph the moments. Some people did anyway and uploaded to YouTube their screen recordings. The videos were seen as confusing curious people or made OSC members upset. Not only was it disrespectful for Adam Katz and the Huang twins but it was also illegal to record in a theater in general. A lot of people would report on this, including OdysseyTen, advising people not to watch them.

2024 tour[edit | edit source]

The BFDI & Inanimate Insanity Tour 2024 event took place in 6 destinations in the United States between June to August 2024. The screenings includes two episodes of TPOT and BFDIA respectively and the long-awaited 15th episode of the second season of Inanimate Insanity. The event also includes a bag policy and backpacks were not allowed. No coat check or cash accepted during the event was also a policy. These two were announced in a day before the event officially began. Also videos or images were not allowed, turning off devices during screening prior to the tour, despite leaks being uploaded to YouTube getting to the point where full episodes were leaked. These 6 destinations include:

  • NYU Skirball Center, New York City, New York (June 28 to 30)
  • Linda & Archie Dunham Theater, Houston, Texas (July 6)
  • SIFF Cinema Egyptian, Seattle, Washington (July 13 and 14)
  • Saban Media Center, Los Angeles, California (July 20 and 21)
  • Harris Theater, Chicago, Illinois (July 27)
  • Miniaci Performing Arts Center, Fort Lauderdale, Florida (August 3 and 4)

Just like the previous year, people came out warning the OSC for not checking these leaks and setting up ways to avoid them. Overall, the aftermath of the event was a complete disaster.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Critical reception[edit | edit source]

The IMDB page for Battle for Dream Island currently sits at 8,3 out of 10. Most of the episodes fall between 6 to 8 point score in the website, with most of the worst numbers falling to the first season with 6. Most comments point out how the plot makes them excited to see what happens or the unexpected moments that happen in some episodes.

Viewer ratings[edit | edit source]

An episode currently gains more than 20 thousand views after 35 minutes since the release of "Insectophobe's Nightmare 4". Within a month, an episode can reach over 1 million views and thousands of likes. Most of the videos gain thousands of likes and always beats the dislike ratio.

Awards[edit | edit source]

Michael and Cary Huang attempted to be the King of the Web in 2012 to gain 1,000 votes so that the second season would air, but they failed. Even with the failure, they aired the season regardless.

During Fandom (at the time Wikia, Inc.)'s Battle of the Fantasy Foods 2016, the Yoylecake became an contestant. In all of it's 6 rounds, the cake won until becoming the overall winner of the contest. The top four were featured as a real-life version on New York Comic Con at the time. It was criticized that jacknjellify requested to all of it's viewers to vote on the Yoylecake while the others weren't promoted.

Battle for Dream Island, because of its growing popularity, became a nominee for the Cartoon Crave Awards of 2021, in the section of "Best Web Series" among 3 others. The series won this award under the title of "Outstanding Web Series" with 63% of the votes on January 22, 2022.[22][23] The object show fell in second place for the fan's favorite show behind The Owl House and ahead Helluva Boss and Amphibia.

Criticism and controversies[edit | edit source]

JoanStar, a notable member of the OSC, had criticized TPOT's format as when fans criticized the show's plot or animation itself. According to her, the crew members visibly see the criticism and have the show getting worse.[24] TPOT is also criticized for violating the "Show Don't Tell" rule in animation or comics, because of the extensive dialogue before a moment is about to happen.

Some people pointed the lack of the comedy making them laugh. Comparing to the first season, it was funny throughout the sequence of events, but now it has been told to literally just being on adventure and drama than comedy. People also miss the past of BFDI as evident in a remix of the Cake at Stake song.

Voting rigging (allegations)[edit | edit source]

The comment made by "Derpy Hooves" thanking the bronies for eliminating Teardrop.

There have been attempts to make the fanbase believe that the voting numbers were rigged by the crew members of the show in order to continue their plans for the season or sometimes it was individuals who rigged the votes. One infamous example and the first one was the Derpy Hooves incident, where, in honor of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic character of the same name, Adam Katz rigged the votes with the male fans of the show.

Sometime after the release of "Who Stole Donut's Diary?", false screenshots of Satomi Hinatsu admitting that he manipulated the votes and that it was indeed Flower supposed to be eliminated. This would start false accusations of bias over Flower. When Gelatin and Flower were up for victory during the end of "SOS (Save Our Show)", the results were shown to the public in "Chapter Complete" where the voters made Flower win the season. This resulted in some debating that the voting was rigged with more than 20,000 votes than Gelatin. This was largely (in actuality) because the date limit for the votes was changed for February 22 instead of February 14 to reach a 100,000 vote mark to make a sixth season.[25] Yet, they failed.

"Voting wars"[edit | edit source]

This is the term used for incidents that vote differences are too close to one another to each contestant, gaining similar vote counts being too close to call them. The most notable example was in "Who Stole Donut's Diary", where Flower and Taco. The earliest traces of vote wars came as far as "Don't Pierce My Flesh" from the first season where Rocky was eliminated with seven more votes than Flower. This only continued in Battle for BFB due to the switch from vote to eliminate to vote to save. The trend continued until "Oneirophobe's Nightmare" switched the voting from the comment section to Google Forms.

An infamous voting war was the infamous Just Not in the aftermath of "Outbreak At Steak" where they got an intense voting period with thousands of votes spent to put Bomby out of the top votes, which stood out to Pillow which she was a literal sociopath to literally make her team lose as she believed to completely wipe Just Not.[26]

Wikipedia page creation attempts[edit | edit source]

It is known that there have been hijackings of pre-existing Wikipedia articles that had their names relating to Battle for Dream Island or attempts at creating pages for the series or contents relating to it, including the term object show itself. The first documented example was from December 5, 2010. The reason why most can't be accepted is because this is against the article creation guidelines for the encyclopedia.

Most of the time, articles will be accepted by the amounts of references and sources by either books or news articles through a draft so that article will be created. If there are few sources to that one topic, it will be poorly-documented on Wikipedia. But if it has a lot of sources, it will be very well documented. BFDI and the OSC in general is very poorly documented outside from YouTube and Discord. Since most users don't recognize this fact, most will try to change or add stuff relating to Battle for Dream Island and they get reverted to avoid excessive vandalism.[27]

Future[edit | edit source]

The possibility of a hypothetical sixth season has been theorized since the release of BFDI:TPOT and the end of BFB. The possibility of a season succeeding Battle for BFDI/BFB was first discussed on March 2020 after the release of "The Escape from Four". Currently, as of 2023, BFDIA and TPOT are in production, meaning that the potential of the sixth season will be possibly released in the far future after finishing both seasons and probably IDFB.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Battle for Dream Island's premiere is generally considered to be the earliest or first object show in existence, marking the beginning of the Object Show Community, a fandom in the Internet that traces its origin back to the show itself in 2010. Although some consider Move Your Feet! by rtil from 2008 being the first object-related video to exist, BFDI is the official first object show to exist with competition and contests with teams and contestants with a host. Battle for Dream Island is also, thanks to popular belief, the first viewer voting and competition-based object show in history. However, after the series' initial cancelation, the OSC grew.[28]

Assets[edit | edit source]

The show became open-source on July 24, 2012 when all of its assets were released to the public, including faces, character assets and bodies, limbs, backgrounds, items, accessories, and everything else. Outside from the main assets in the website page includes episode .flas, grass used in the BFDIA intro, the chase scene in "Yeah, Who? I Wanna Know", old assets from 2008 known as "oldies", Firey's Candy Bar Adventure and it's source project. These assets were used in most of the old Adobe Animate object shows before BFB was released, like most of the assets were used in Object Overload's first reboot from 2015.

File:MOUTH.png
The Mouth asset's current appearance. ALL WORSHIP THIS THING.

The Mouth asset originated from this web show, and then it became the infamous "clip-art mouth asset" where it appears in literally everywhere as a "clipart cartoon mouth" seen in most clickbait or random moments of YouTube videos. As a parody for the mouth, a short was made named "Why is the BFDI Mouth Everywhere?" where the plot follows Golf Ball's creation going hazard named Mouth eating everyone after having some "adventures". The asset was even adapted into a contestant in Mysterious Object Super Show, named BFDI Mouth.[29]

"Beefy die"[edit | edit source]

A meme arose under the abbreviation spelling by Fun BFDI Facts, named "Beefy die". It has been caused by the spelling of TikTok voices used in the channel.
